Beginning in 2025-26 school year, NEW volunteer background check procedures are in place. This change aligns LCSC with the other Boone County public school corporations, with one additional background check database (federal criminal courts) added for LCSC.

What needs to be completed in order to volunteer in LCSC? 3 easy steps.

1. Complete a Volunteer Background Check
   How much does a Volunteer Background Check Cost? $21.95
   How long will an approved background check be valid for? It is valid for 3 years following the submission of the application.
    
2. Complete the Bully Prevention Training Video and a brief quiz
    
3. Volunteers are required to acknowledge a few items during the 3 year approval period: 
   
   Requirement to inform LCSC of any charges or arrests during the 3 year approval period.
   
   Requirement to view the anti-bullying information provided by the school district.
   
   Please note: We recommend completing the application at least ten (10) days prior to the date desired to volunteer.

   Alias and Former Names
   National Sex Offender
   National Criminal Data Base
   Global Watchlists
   ArrestAlert Pre-Search
   County Criminal Search
   
   Federal Criminal Courts NOTE: Visitors to our schools such as guest speakers, or attendees of school wide programs and performances will continue to be required to scan their driver’s license or state identification through our Raptor system, which flags among other data, individuals appearing on the state sex offender registry.
